This law provides for the licensure of dietitians, but does not limit nutrition services to only those that are licensed. After extensive review of the Wyoming nutrition practice laws, the Holistic Council conclusion is that the state has an non-exclusive scope of practice for licensed Dietitians. Essentially, there is defined a scope of practice for those that are licensed but we were unable to find an enforcement language and any examples of practice enforcement for non-licensed practitioners. Multiple calls and messages were left with the state’s regulatory board. They have not responded to our inquiries.
Non-licensed practitioners should be mindful of restricted titles and provide only services for which they are trained and that support health and wellbeing in clients.
