Maine provides for the licensure of dietitians, However, there is a broad exemption for “A person who provides complementary or alternative health care services in accordance with this subchapter but who is not licensed, certified or registered in this State as a health care professional or practitioner…” with certain disclosure requirements.
1) Do not use any protected title, such as Licensed Dietitian, or give the impression that your license, and
2) Do not diagnose, treat, or cure a medical condition, or disease.
3) Provide specific disclosures.
