The law licenses “dietitian-nutritionists” and defines the “dietetic practice” as, among other things, “developing nutrition care plans”.
Non-licensed individuals are allowed to provide a wide variety of “non-medical” nutrition and wellness services.
Holistic practitioners provide non-medical services to their clients. We advise holistic practitioners to state clearly via online disclosures and in client-facing materials that the services provided are “non-medical” nutrition services and information and are “not the practice of dietetics.”
